The Nurture Principles is all about sensible approaches to wellness. From a nutrition standpoint, that means making decisions that nurture you (most of the time) and not stressing out (which can cause you to overeat comfort foods) when you can’t be “the perfect eater”.

Life happens. That means some days you may forget to bring your lunch to work or get stuck going to a working lunch meeting and can’t stick to “the plan that keeps you on track”. Don’t sweat it. It’s not one lunch out that makes a difference, it’s a combination of little decisions that can add up to big problems – and big results – depending on your choices.

Tips for Eating Healthy When Eating Out

  • look for veggies and load ‘em up
  • practice portion control
  • leave some food on the plate
  • skip the extras (dessert and alcohol)
